When Artist Nicky Dowd returned to live in Ireland she recalled the memory of a story her father and she created together. We combined our love  of nature and our imagination to make up stories taking it in turns to fill in the gaps. The surrounding countryside of Mayo compelled her to write STUMPA, developing the story of an abandoned misshapen little fir tree with local school children.

Nicky reconnected with award winning friend and illustrator Winnie O' Brien and Self Published the book locally.

With the help of Gnó Mhaigh EO it was translated into Irish with access to a FREE audio book in both languages told by local raconteur Tony Reidy and original music by Joanne Keegan.
